Aerial photo flight

It’s all a question of perspective.

Phoenics uses the latest digital camera technology for photo flights. In order to be able to depict the terrain structure one-to-one, vertical and oblique shots are used in different resolutions and image overlap.

Processing of aerial image data

No GIS without georeferenced aerial photographs.
Phoenics has been a specialist for orthophotos for over 25 years. They are used in a resolution up to 3 cm and thus in highest perfection and detail fidelity for municipal and industrial purposes.
The aerial photos are processed according to different procedures. The classic orthophoto is produced with tilted buildings and only a small overlap is required (60% lengthwise and 30% crosswise to the flight direction).
Together with our strategic partner nframes GmbH we produce tilt-free orthophotos in highest quality and resolution. For such almost perfect orthophotos and 3D representations, an overlap of 80% lengthwise and 60% crosswise is required. All buildings as well as the objects of the earth’s surface are depicted true to position and thus correspond to a map-like image. The textured 3D mesh is used for three-dimensional visualization of the earth’s surface and can also be produced at any time together with the True Orthophoto. The 3D mesh offers you the perfect view of the 3D model with or without texture, with shading, triangular mesh, point cloud or combinations. The best texturing can be achieved by the additional use of oblique images. Many 3D GIS systems can already read in such data directly and process it together with vector data.

Orthophoto Creation

There is no geoinformation system without georeferenced aerial photographs.

For over 25 years Phoenics is a specialist for orthophotos. For communal and industrial purposes, they are produced in a resolution of up to 3 cm and thus in the highest perfection and detail. The aerial photographs are produced using various methods. The classic orthophoto is shown with tilted buildings and requires only a small amount of coverage for production.

True Orthophoto / 3D Mesh

For the production of tilt free orthophotos and 3D representations in highest quality and resolution we cooperate with our strategic partner nframes GmbH. The textured 3D mesh is used for three-dimensional visualization of the earth’s surface and is available at any time together with the True Orthophoto. The 3D mesh offers you the perfect view of the 3D model, with or without texture, shading, triangular meshing, point cloud or in a combination of these.

Stereoscopic Data Evaluation

Our experts evaluate the aerial photographs stereoscopically at the 3D workstations.

Wherever orthophotos do not offer sufficient quality, we professionally evaluate the photogrammetric raw data stereoscopically. From basic products to detailed specialized cadastres, Phoenics offers the complete range of photogrammetric aerial image evaluation.

Height Model Creation

By means of matching procedures, large-area digital earth surface models with a resolution of up to 1cm can be created. Objects are extracted from these models to derive the earth surface model without vegetation and artificial objects. In addition to conventional image flights or drone flights, we also offer laser scan flights in cooperation with our partners.

Consulting

The larger and more comprehensive a project is, the more complex are the processes and the geodata sets to be created.
Phoenics has the international experience and professional know-how in the fields of photogrammetry, geographic information systems (GIS), quality assurance and project management to record and support major projects worldwide.

Evaluation of War Aerial Photos

The evaluation of Allied aerial photographs is used to identify aircraft bombs and contaminated sites of all kinds. Not only the positional recording of the suspected areas in the aerial photograph represents a special challenge, but also the preparation of an elevation model for the calculation of difference models to the current situation. In this way, it can be calculated at what depth the contaminated sites are located and which volumes are to be removed.
